Round table dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Neutrality of Turkmenistan
On February 26, 2020, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Austria organised a Round Table devoted the 25th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Permanent Neutrality at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
Director of the Vienna Diplomatic Academy, Mr. Emil Brix, Rector of the International University for the Humanities and Development, Esen Aydogdyev, and a senior UN representative, Mr. Vladimir Goryaev made presentations during the event.
In speech, Turkmen side noted that the year of 2020 will be marked by holding a number of events aimed at expanding understanding of the international community about the significance and role of Turkmen Neutrality as an important factor in ensuring regional security, stability and sustainable development, and the country's comprehensive progress. The main event will be the High-Level International Conference, which will take place in December this year in Ashgabat.
Mr. E. Aydogdyev told about the phenomenon of neutrality of Turkmenistan, its connection with the history and traditions of the Turkmen people. The participants were familiarized with the main directions of the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, aimed at strengthening bilateral and multilateral relations, as well as interaction within the framework of authoritative international
At the end of the round table, a video about the Neutrality of Turkmenistan was demonstrated to the participants.
The event was also attended by the high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Austria, ambassadors, representatives of international organizations, scholars, professors of higher educational institutions and representatives of the Austrian-Turkmen Society.
